This is the first of a regular monthly report on traffic figures through AEI’s student website ‘Study in Australia’. The site is the official Australian Government website for international students and is located at http://www.studyinaustralia.gov.au
For the month of September 2003 the website achieved a record 99,445 individual visits. This is up from August’s total of 81,446 visits. The amount of time spent per visit continues to be strong with the average time being 7 minutes and 23 seconds.
Traffic from the various continents shows that Asia is by far the strongest source with about 55% followed by North America with 20%, Oceania with around 11% followed by both Europe and South America on around 6% with Africa measuring quite small traffic at less than 1%.

Student Response Facility
The Student Response Facility is a service on the Study in Australia website where students can get more detailed answers to their enquiries. For the month of September the student response facility received 235 enquiries up from August’s total of 211 enquiries. Since its launch in July 2001 there have been over 3,098 enquiries made via this facility.

Study Wizard
The Study Wizard is an intuitive process that guides students through searching for and selecting courses and institutions, the visa process as well as identifying living and other costs. Since July 2001 over 27,330 Study Wizard profiles have been created on the website. The top 5 countries Study Wizards have been received from over this period are:

Scholarships Database
The Scholarships Database is a facility that allows students to search the most comprehensive, accurate and reliable list of scholarships available to international students. In September there were over 12,545 visits to the scholarships database up from the August total of 10,644 visits.
