The Australian Government is committed to growing a sustainable future for Australia’s international education and training industry.
The key strategic priorities for the government are to:
- promote broader bilateral and multilateral engagement on international education and training policy
- contribute to alleviating Australia’s skills shortages
- protect educational standards
- ensure market diversification.
Australian Education International (AEI) works with sector representatives, other government agencies, and states and territories in pursuit of a joint approach to international education.

The internationalisation of Australia’s education and training system will help place Australia firmly in the emerging global skills and knowledge economy – a development essential for the continuing well-being and prosperity of all Australians.
