Australian Education International (AEI) and the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC), in consultation with Australian international education peak bodies have provided support to International Education Services Ltd in its development of an online Education Agent Training Course (EATC).
This online competency-based training course provides information about:
- the Australian education system and Australia as a study destination;
- education quality assurance issues and the Australian visa regulation system;
- changes and developments in international education services; and
- excellence in service delivery, study and career pathways and professional development.
The course covers four areas:
- Australia, the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and career trends;
- Legislation and regulations;
- Working effectively in international education; and
- Professional standards and ethics.
The online course takes approximately 50 hours, is available 24 hours 7 days a week, and provides structured teaching sessions, readings, links to related resources, self-assessment tasks and self-paced tutorial excercises. The course is free of charge. Only individuals who wish to be formally assessed will need to pay a A$400 administration charge. International Education Services Ltd, which developed and delivers the course, provides three-monthly updates on course uptake around the world through the pieronline website.
